Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

This policy applies to the whole of Turbomeca UK Limited and is intended to support and complement the SAFRAN Group Health, Safety and Environmental Policy which can be found within the Company Operating System under the heading of "Company Policy". Turbomeca UK performs maintenance repair and overhaul of small and medium gas turbines and production of new parts and assemblies for the aerospace industry. A Services group provides support, leadership and control.

High priority is given to the Health & Safety of all employees and visitors. The Company strives to reduce its impact on the environment by the efficient use of energy, resources and the prevention of pollution. The company provides a safe and healthy working environment including safe systems of work for employees and visitors on Company premises or engaged on Company business. As a minimum, the Company's arrangements fully satisfy current Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.

The C.E.O. is accountable for providing a safe and healthy workplace, avoiding adverse impact to the environment and the community in which we do business. The C.E.O. delegates responsibility for implementing HSE policy to the COO and other service directors, operations and departmental managers. Plans will be established and tested for responding to potential emergencies to prevent injuries, spills and releases. Within each business unit employees and representatives from key areas of that business will assist in highlighting issues and risks, by the implementation of continuous improvement programmes and the timely completion of actions.

The company is committed to communicating HSE issues internally and externally, providing adequate training and resources to ensure that all employees have the necessary skills and equipment to work safely and avoid adverse impact on the Environment.

The requirements of ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS18001:1999 are the design points for our HSE Management System. The documented procedures will be periodically evaluated for compliance with these requirements and relevant environmental and health and safety legislation. The HSE system audit will be managed by the HSE department.

The company will ensure sufficient internal and external resources are made available to identify and manage the HSE risks associated with the Company's operations.

The Management Review activity will monitor and review performance against this policy to ensure effective control of risk and progressive improvement of the HSE system.
